Juvenile Great Black Hawk

Description

The Great Black Hawk is a large bird of prey found in parts of Central and South America, especially in forests, wetlands, and open areas near rivers. It has mostly black feathers, broad wings, and a striking white band across its tail. The Great Black Hawk feeds on a variety of animals, including reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects, and small mammals. It often hunts from a high perch, watching carefully for prey before swooping down to catch it. Like other birds of prey, it plays an important role in its ecosystem by helping to control populations of other animals.
